Project: Pantry organization

Def. Organize: 1. To put together into an orderly, functional, structured whole.

Our new house has a nicer kitchen, but a smaller pantry than our old house. When everything was unpacked and put in the pantry and cabinets, I found it looking like this:

This disturbed me greatly......not only did it look ugly and make me do an audible "*sigh*" every time I opened it up, but it was cluttered and I knew that I would lose things in it.....items would expire before I used them, and I would not know what I needed to buy at the grocery store.

So, off to Target for some inspiration. I was thrilled when I came up with clear shoe-box containers on sale from $6 to $3 each. I purchased 11 of them after I made the list of the different categories that I wanted to include.

Thirty-three dollars, computer labels and clear-tape led me to THIS:

Yes, I own too many cookbooks and likely too many large appliances (which I actually do use, though so who really cares?) But at least now I can find my things for the most organized kitchen pantry I have ever had.

I have to admit I have opened up the pantry just to stand there and look at it. It makes me happy :)

  1. Very nice! My pantry is terrible right now. I was just thinking I need to get it straighten out soon. Wanna come up and make my pantry pretty like yours?

  2. this is great!!!!! actually I was looking at your before picture and thinking I would LOVE for mine to look like that. I have resorted to stacking things on the floor. On top of other things. Sigh. :)
