My "Pinterest-ing" Summer

I am doing a new blog theme these next 3 months called "My Pinterest-ing" Summer. I am greatly looking forward to it!

If you know me at all, you know I am a planner. What I LOVE to do is sit down and plan, plan, plan, so I will make the best use of my time and take advantage of summer programs etc. So, this past week I have been working on a master schedule of our summer. When you are a stay-at-home mom with three littles, you can get bored rather quickly, if you do not have a plan. Some people are rather spontaneous, but not me. So, I am planning on making of 3 months list of activities for every single day! We will do 1 fun thing each day. This may mean we are going out on a playdate, doing a fun summer activity, going to the library for the reading program, to the pool or bowling. But our activities will also include summer fun home activities....many of which I have found on pinterest!

Many people look at my crafting and my sewing projects and think that I am a creative person. Not exactly. I am a copier. I find cool ideas and inspirations and then make them for myself. THAT is why pinterest has been such a wonderful website for me! I have done many of the wonderful activities I have found there and look forward to finding more and hence doing more. Pinterest can be a time-sucker, but I think it is worth it when it enhances your family time and creates wonderful memories for both you and your kids.

I plan on blogging about our "pinterest-ing" summer fun and hope that you will join me. I will rate each activity and tell you whether or not it was worth the time and/or money to do it.

My goal is to not hear the dreaded phrase "Mommy, I am bored"......all summer long! (those of you who are chuckling might have a point but it is a worthy goal at least!)

The kick-off of my pinteresting summer began last night with the total eclipse that I got to witness for the first time in my life. I leave you with a few pictures.

I have taken a bloggy-haitus for a while because we were quite busy with end-of-the-year things. But, I am glad to be back and EXCITED about this memory-making summer with an almost 8 year old, almost 4 year old and almost 2 year old!

Here's to our pinteresting summer plans!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. I was just telling your father today that I wished I was more organized, more of a planner. I'm the kind of person who plans a whole week's worth of dinners, but when that particular day gets here, I don't want to make "that," so I end up making something else, something easier. It would be nice if I could follow through on, "Plan your work and work your plan." Where did this organization come from in you? Maybe it's just harder for a Phlegmatic!
