**Leanne is the daughter of my former boss. She and I always felt a special bond and I am glad to still be able to keep up with her, even though we now live thousands of miles from each other!
Dear Leanne, sister of my heart,
I feel like I have watched you grow up :) No really, I do! You were barely out of highschool when we first met. I was working for your dad and you were helping out in the office for fun, I think....or because your mean dad was making you grade papers :) One or the other, I was THRILLED to meet you.
I am not sure if we "hit it off" right away or not.....but I know that I was always so happy when you were working. We had such a fabulous time....probably more fun than EVER should be had grading papers on the middle east and civil war :) I have often said it, but one of the best memories was when we dragged a little TV into the office and graded papers while watching a recorded finale of a reality show....that I don't even remember the name of right now because I am old!
When you went "off" to college (which wasn't very far because that's where we worked), it was so fun to see you starting out. It was fun for me to watch you making friends and start dating. One time you dated a yucky guy and I was praying for you to see the light.....and you did :) When you met who is now your husband we all knew that it was different. I did not get to spend a ton of time with him, but I always always liked him and knew you had picked a GEM!
I was honored to be a part of your wedding....and my baby girl to also being the "honorary" flower girl in your wedding! Then you had your precious baby and to watch you being such a wonderful mom to him is so amazing....not that I doubted that you would be a great mom, because I KNEW you would be!
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you publicly how much you are loved......I was praying about who to write this letter to and you popped into my head. So, if you need encouragement today, I hope that you receive just a little bit of it from this blog posting today! You truly are a beautiful woman....inside and out! You have a beautiful little family and I am praying that God will choose to grow it even larger! I have watched you mature in many ways, but I think the best thing is this: I used to think of you as a "little sister" type person in my life. Now I think of you as someone who is my contemporary, even though I am a few years older than you!
You are fabulous. I hope that you feel beautiful today!
Love,
BECKY LYNN
