Mommy/Daughter project

Ellie and I had so much fun working on these aprons together.....she is getting more confident with the sewing machine! I have learned in doing this project that I am NOT a fan of double fold binding.....although it makes it look very professional, it is difficult to work with, even when you first pin, then baste, then sew!

I won't show you these up close as there are too many mistakes for my liking.....but for what the project was.....something to do with my daughter that is practical and cute......it was perfect!

The funniest thing was, I allowed Ellie to pick out ANY material that she wanted and she came up with this. I told her I would not interfere in her choice and I kept my mouth shut. Haha! It is hysterical too because she LOOOOOVES this material! She says all the time how much it makes her think of a beautiful garden. OK. That's what is important :)

The thing I love most? This pattern was from the 1950's :) Very June Cleaver. LOVE!

  7. Great job Becky!! I've been sewing like a crazy lady lately. I'll have to post more on etsy soon. I think it's great that you let her pick that material out. I'll have to let Taeya do that with a dress sometime.
